AIR SEA RESCUE AIRCAFT (OPERATION SEA HAWK) from ‘Thunderbirds’ (1965) created by Gerry Anderson

We see these great looking aircraft in a few episodes and are featured in ‘Operation Crash-Dive’ as part of the search and rescue attempts to find a missing Fireflash airliner.

The actual vfx model was ‘kit-bashed’ from plastic model kits of an F104 starfighter (fuselage and weapons pod) and B58 hustler (wings and tail). More on how the original model was constructed in the video ‘More Kit Bashing’.

This painting shows the aircraft heading out to sea in search of a downed aircraft .
