CARRIER AIRCRAFT and FIGHTER
From the 1965 TV series ‘Thunderbirds’ created by Gerry Anderson
This unique aircraft combination is featured in a memorable scene from the episode ‘The Duchess Assignment’. Jeff Tracy attends an air display with Lady Penelope. The US Air Force plane is no danger, this sequence is a glimpse into Jeff Tracy’s private - off-duty - life.
The large flat ‘carrier craft’ is joined in mid-air with a fighter plane that lands on the flat fuselage. The pilot of the larger craft then ejects. and the smaller plane is now attached and the pilot of the fighter plane guides the ‘combo’ aircraft into land like a conventional plane on a runway.
This kit would likely come in the light blue German WW2 aircraft plastic, or the silver US WW2 bomber plastic.
In 1/144th scale this would be about 13 inches long with teh fighter about 4 or 5 inches.
Optional landing gear . And maybe two stands? Or one of the classic ‘Dogfight Double’ ‘A’ stands.
