SKY 1 - from the 1970 TV Series ‘UFO’ created by Gerry Anderson
Sky 1 is SHADO’s fighter aircraft that is deployed to shoot down invading alien UFOs.. Sky 1 was attached to a submarine - collectively called SKYDIVER, and was launched underwater.
Sky 1 would sometimes succeed in destroying the UFO and sometimes the UFO would be destroyed. If damaged the UFO would start spewing a strange reddish orange pink smoke and crash land.
1/72nd is, or was in the 1970s, THE scale for aircraft model kits. The plane is maybe 35 feet in length, about 5.5” (15cm) in length.
