SHADO CONTROL - from the 1970 TV Series ‘UFO’ created by Gerry Anderson

SHADO CONTROL was one of the Mobiles; futuristic armoured car / tank like vehicles, designed for traveling across rough terrain. This specially equipped Mobile could track and coordinate the operation . It was usual for 3 Mobiles and this 4th command Mobile, ‘Shado Control’ to be deployed to investigate crashed, or landed UFOs and the aliens.

The Mobiles were designed by Visual Effects Art Director Mike Trim as part of Derek Meddings visual effects team. . The shots of the Mobiles are are remarkable. All created with detailed miniatures about 24 inches in length and driving around miniature sets. Approx 1/16th scale I think. The scenes of the Mobile fleet patrolling densely wooded areas are some of he best miniature effects ever filmed. Stunning.

This would be the same kit as the imaginary SHADO MOBILE kit. A decent sized kit in airfix's car scale (1/32nd) would be about 9 ¾ “ long. It would include a detailed cab and drivers. And would come in silver plastic.
