USS SENTINEL

From the 1965 TV series ‘Thunderbirds’ created by Gerry Anderson

This ship is a highly advanced, high speed US navy strike vessel. It features in the Thunderbirds episode ‘Terror in New York City’, where it detects an identified aircraft in nearby airspace and promptly tries to shoot it down. Tragically, the unidentified aircraft is Thunderbird 2 which is hit and Virgil manages to coax the damaged aircraft back to the Island, where is crash-lands - in spectacular fashion. Later in the story, with Thunderbird 2 still out of commission, the Sentinel is called upon to help transport ‘Thunderbird 4’ to New York for a nail biting rescue attempt..

When Thunderbird 4 is hoisted aboard you get a good look at the size of the ship. By my reckoning itis 600 feet long, so a model in 1/600th scale would be 12” / 30cm long. In the classic light grey plastic.
