ALTARES From the standalone TV episode ’Into Infinity’ produced by Gerry Anderson
‘Into Infinity’ also known as ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ is stand alone 50 minute tv-movie. Gerry Amderson was commsisioned to make the show as part of a semi-eductaional series. It was made after ‘Space:1999’ - Season 1 and before ‘Space:1999’ - Season 2’. and utilisd a lot of the same crew behind teh scenes. The features spaceship - the Altares - was designed by celebrated model maker Martion Bower who had built amny spaceships for Space:1999. In fact he believe dthe Altares was for an epsiode of Space:1999, or at least part of that series. as such the Altares looks like it could fly alongside an Eagle, Hawk or Swift spaceshiop,
Two highkly detailed ‘film quality’ model were created for the many space shots and the VFX were handeld by Brain Johnson and Nick Allder and are of the same high standard as those seen in ‘Space:1999’, and indeed as expected from any Gerry Anderson production.
