REMOTE CAMERA from the 1965 TV series ‘Thunderbirds’ created by Gerry Anderson

The Remote Camera was carried aboard ‘Thunderbird 1’. The small, unmaned aircraft is carried in special bay in the nose – somewhere – and is capable of vertical take off and hovering. We don’t know much else about it. The glass nose seems to be crammed full of a variety of cameras and lenses clealry designed to capture as much visual information as possible about the danger zone.  It seems to work under its power and control. Scott does not ‘fly it’ via remote control. I guess is predates the sort of drones we see today.

It only appears in two epsiodes - ‘Pit of Peril’ and ‘Edge of Impact’, but it seems like the sort of thing that would be used quite often. I have painted it in an imaginary scene, navigating a precarious mine tunnel.

It looks to be about 10 feet in length, so in ven in the large scale of 1/32nd scale it would be only a few inches long. Perfect for a blister pack!!!
