ANTEREAN SPACESHIP

From the movie COCOON directed by RON HOWARD (1985)

A group of people living in a Florida old peoples home encounter and befirend some aliens who are on a mission to bring fellow aliens home. The heart warming film was big hit in the mid 1980s and has an enduting appeal. The film has a wonderful score by James Horner and a terrific ensemble cast.

The visual effects were created at Industrial Light & Magic under ths steady hand of KEN RALSTON, and it won that years Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. The aliens themselves are a a tour de force combining actors in elaborate make-ups, complex animation effects and extensive optical work. The finale features an incredible scene where the Anterean’s spaceship arrives to take the group of freinds home.
